Mapping Your Anger Pattern
Identify Triggers, Reactions, and Consequences
Anger is a natural human emotion that signals when something feels unfair, threatening, or frustrating. It is not the feeling itself that causes harm but rather what we do with it. Aggressive or impulsive reactions to anger can damage relationships, careers, and physical health. Effective anger management begins with self-awareness: understanding what activates your anger, how it shows up in your body and behavior, and the real-world consequences it has produced. This worksheet helps you map those patterns so you can intervene earlier in the anger cycle.
For each row, describe a recent situation that triggered your anger. Then identify the physical and emotional cues you noticed, what you did in response, and the outcome or consequence of that response. Look for patterns across your entries to find your most common triggers and reactions.
