Tracking My Grief Journey
A personal reflection tool for understanding how grief moves through your life
Grief is a deeply personal process. While models like the Kubler-Ross framework describe common grief responses—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—contemporary research emphasizes that grief does not follow a fixed sequence (Stroebe & Schut, 2021). You may move back and forth between stages, experience several at once, or skip some entirely. This worksheet helps you reflect on your unique grief experience without prescribing a "right" way to grieve.
For each stage of grief listed below, reflect on whether you have experienced it, what it felt like for you, and what helped you cope during that phase. Leave a row blank if a stage does not apply to your experience.
