Stress Awareness Inventory
Mapping how stress shows up in your body, emotions, and behavior
Stress affects the whole person, showing up physically, emotionally, and behaviorally. Research on the biopsychosocial model of stress (Slavich, 2020) demonstrates that chronic stress is linked to inflammation, mood dysregulation, and maladaptive coping patterns. The first step toward effective stress management is awareness: learning to recognize your personal stress signals so you can intervene early, before stress escalates.
For each category, list the specific ways you experience stress. Then, in the final column, write one proactive strategy you can use to address that stress signal. Think about activities, habits, or coping skills where these symptoms naturally decrease.
